Anyone interested?

Kinja'd!!!

So with Assetto Corsa just being released, Projects Cars out soon and Forza Motorsport 6 out this year we aren't exactly lacking Sims however while apexes and tuning setups and great and all sometimes I feel the need to use Overboost in a GT3.

Kinja'd!!!

Anyway NFS took a break in 2014 after Rivals which is apparently disappointing but I haven't played it (let me know if it is any good and I'll try it on EA Access) so I'm not sure what to expect. As you can probably guess from the top picture I'm a fan of the original Most Wanted, crazy story and all and would like a return to the dirty FMVs of the past.

So is anyone else interested in NFS or is the series dead to you and you hope that EA falls into a pit of angry spiders.

You know, ever since Carbon I sort of lost interest on the series of NFS, but this one could be the one to break the monotony, AND they're using interesting cars as opposed to just a civic, or a golf (which back in the day were some of the fastest cars in the game).

Project Cars & FM6 tho.... Those will be my reason for not sleeping

I'm going to have to go with the pit of angry spiders on this one.

However, the Dirt series needs to make a return.

Saw it was a mobile game. Outrage.

Noticed it was being made by the Real Racing guys. Acceptance.

Played Real Racing 3. Mild excitement.

Hit the Micro-transaction wall. Outrage.

Well for PC, Rivals is locked at 30fps. If you unlock the FPS and set it to 60 it doubles the speed of the game and the physics engine. 120 is times 4. See the problem here? Basically, NFS PC ports as of late are notoriously terrible.

SHIFT was the last one I liked and played much. The rebooted Hot Pursuit was also good, but I stopped playing becaus of the infuriating rubber banding.

I loved NFS till Underground 2, with Porsche Unleashed being most probably my all time favorite racing game and the game that ignited my love for Porsches

I saw that, thought it was pretty funny if I'm honest. Also 30 FPS doesn't bother me thus why I'll probably play it on my Xbox One, well that and the fact that my Xbox One is silent and my PC sounds like a Jet engine fighting a Tornado when playing games.

I miss the old Tuner cars or maybe I just miss the customisation.

Dirt needs to come back in a big way.

Like in a RalliSport Challenge big way. With McRae-era cars. And all of Group B. And several different classes of vintage. And tons of hillclimb cars. And cool Rallycross modes and cars. Ice racing. And 10-minute stages in Wales. And more than 2-3 stages in each region.

Know what sucked in the most recent DIRTs (or maybe all of them)? "Put your hillclimb car in Rallycross? No way, dude, this isn't video gaming, it's very srs bsns. You can't do that." Pull out the stops. Make it hilarious.

One of the most fun times I ever had in all of gaming was setting up a grueling epic hillclimb in Argentina, making the vehicles Rallycross-class (so of course everyone picked Volvo 240s), making the start simultaneous and turning damage on high. When my buddy's car lost a wheel on an egregious bump and then slammed into my car, sending us both hurtling off a cliffside to our doom, I thought, this is what it's all about, dude. That beats any photo finish.

Ain't care. Won't care 'til I get confirmation that EA is DONE with that 30fps locked bullshit they pull on PC. And they can fuck right off with that 'you must watch the crappy cinema every time you boot up the game' nonsense too.

I think its down to customization, being able to choose even your interior and sound system layout, trunk, etc. That always tickled my fancy

Ditto!! Midnight Club: LA was like the last of the "arcade" type racing games with modification being a central element to the game.

Midnight Club has become what NFS used to be.

Yeah that is true! Although to be honest I am much more entertained with Forza Motorsports as of late, since it also allows you to create your own liveries and whatnot. It appeals to my artsy side more, AND the racing physics are "better". But I do miss being able to ride motorcycles stupid fast around a crowded downtown LA map. Or catch 50ft of air and keep going like a boss..

I loved Most Wanted. Id play it now if I had it for 360 and not the og Xbox. The cop chases in it were perfect and they sucked in Carbon. If they make a new Most Wanted essentially, I would definitely buy it.

I'm hoping NFS got their shit together for this game. I'm personally hoping for a Porsche 917

Hell yeah I'm interested, but I just wish it had the feel of Pro Street with a little bit of simulation. Pro Street did the whole festival thing really well compared to Horizon.

Technically speaking, they did release something in 2014, Need For Speed the movie. A terrible release, but still a release nonetheless.

I didn't really like Pro street when it came out as it felt to real to me back then and I was only just started playing sims (Forza 2) so now that I'm all for sims I wonder what I would make of it now. Also in all honesty I preferred The NFS movie over the last few F&F films but then again that isn't saying much.

I may be one of the few people who hasn't cared for the handling of NFS games as of late. Ever since Most Wanted it seems the handling model is based on driving on water or ice ALL OF THE TIME!!!! With no way to make adjustments to the sensitivity of the controllers. Now this may be fun for the drift crowd, but it is an incredible PIA for someone like me who switches between Forza, GT, Horizon, etc. on a regular basis.
